Factors that affect fertility in Man and Women

Sometimes there are mysterious situations in which the exact reason of infertility could not be figured out between a male and his corresponding female partner, notwithstanding assessing semen quality in the former and the same of the status of fallopian tubes and ovaries in the later.  Possible causes may be assumed that the egg must not be getting unrestricted at the most favourable time for fertilization or it may not be able to reach the fallopian tube. Sperm is either not able to reach to egg or deliver its DNA package to it if already reached. There might be some disturbance in the zygote movement. Infertility in either male or female or both partners hinders the entire insemination process. The Gynaecology Group Gurgaon illustrates all the factors related to male as well as female infertility.

In primary infertility, a woman is not getting pregnant for the first time itself. On the other hand in secondary infertility she is not able to conceive when she has already delivered a baby earlier.

Factors accountable for this:

  1. Age- A woman’s fertility is found to be in its full swing in her early and mid 20s. It starts to depreciate after 35.
  2. Tobacco smoking- Tobacco inflicts adverse ramifications on ovaries, thereby making it incompetent to generate fertile eggs.
  3. Sexually transmitted disease leads to decreased fecundity.
  4. Body weight- Neither a fat or a thin woman is able to conceive easily. Too much fat leads much production of estrogen and the body begins to react as if it is on birth control. Too little body fat causes production of scarce estrogen.
  5. Chemotherapy supplies high risks to fertility.
